We are looking for an experienced, motivated and dependable team member to join our collaborative and supportive practice.
This full-time position is ideal for someone who is looking to grow their career in optics, takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality customer service, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to learning, and building long-term relationships with patients and colleagues.
The successful candidate will primarily work weekdays, with flexibility to work occasional Thursday evenings and weekends if required.
Roles and Responsibilities
Support our Optometrists and Audiologists by performing a range of clinical pre-testing procedures to a consistently high standard, including autorefraction, tonometry, OCT imaging, and visual field testing.
Provide genuine, personalised frame styling advice tailored to each customer's lifestyle and visual needs.
Dispense prescription eyewear and recommend the most appropriate lens and frame solutions.
Respond to customer enquiries and manage appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner.
Prepare accurate optical quotations, including processing health fund claims.
Deliver an exceptional customer experience by building genuine rapport and ensuring every patient feels valued.
Perform contact lens teaching appointments, educating patients on the safe insertion, removal, handling, and care of their contact lenses.
Carry out frame adjustments, repairs,



and servicing to ensure customers receive the best possible fit and ongoing support.
Develop and apply a strong understanding of optical products, lens technologies, and common eye conditions to confidently support patients and recommend appropriate solutions.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment while maintaining high standards of organisation, consistency, reliability, and attention to detail.

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in the optical industry (highly desirable).
Previous Specsavers experience (strongly preferred).
Experience in a fast-paced retail or customer service environment.
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
A reliable, organised, and proactive approach with the ability to consistently follow through on tasks.




The ability to build genuine relationships with both customers and colleagues.
Confidence working under pressure while maintaining exceptional customer service.
Flexibility to work retail hours, including Thursday evenings and occasional weekends.
A positive attitude, growth mindset and willingness to continue learning.
A Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing, or an interest in completing the qualification with store support and funding.
