We're seeking an experienced and operationally focused Distribution Centre (DC) Manager to lead our Melbourne site.This is not a "watch from the sidelines" position, we're looking for someone who thrives on the floor, understands transport operations deeply, and leads from the front.
You'll play a key role in driving performance, safety, and continuous improvement as we expand our footprint across the Eastern Seaboard.About the roleOverseeing daily site operations to ensure efficient and reliable service deliveryLeading, mentoring, and developing a team of ~50 (supervisors, admin, drivers, and warehouse staff)Driving operational improvements, productivity, and cost efficienciesMaintaining compliance across WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and fatigue managementBuilding strong relationships with customers and stakeholdersEnsuring safe, timely, and effective freight movementAbout youYou're practical, solutions‐focused, and calm under pressure.
You understand that transport runs on people, systems, and timing not just theoryProven experience in transport, logistics, warehousing, or distribution (cold chain/refrigerated or rail experience highly regarded)Strong understanding of Trans‐Bass transport and logistics operations connecting Mainland Australia and Tasmania (highly advantageous)Demonstrated leadership experience with a team-oriented and hands‐on approachCustomer‐first mindset with a drive to exceed expectationsSolid operational knowledge and commercial awarenessStrong understanding of WHS, CoR, and compliance requirementsConfident communication skills,
