Head of Early Years - Ballarat Grammar, VictoriaANZUK Executive is delighted to invite applications for the position of Head of Early Years at Ballarat Grammar, one of Australia's leading independent schools.This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and visionary early childhood leader to lead the Centre for Early Education (CEEd), a highly regarded early learning centre recognised for its commitment to excellence, innovation and child-centred practice.Commencing in Term 3 (or by negotiation), the Head of Early Years will lead one of regional Victoria's leading early childhood services, shaping the future direction of CEEd while contributing to the broader Ballarat Grammar community.Ballarat Grammar is a leading co-educational independent school with a strong reputation for educational excellence, community engagement and student wellbeing.
Located on the School's Wendouree campus, the Centre for Early Education provides exceptional education and care for children from six months of age through to school entry.About CEEdThe Centre for Early Education (CEEd) is Ballarat Grammar's purpose-built early learning centre, providing education and care for children from six months of age through to school entry.CEEd is recognised for its innovative and research-informed approach to early childhood education, with its philosophy underpinned by three key pillars: the Reggio Emilia Educational Project, Nature Pedagogy and Positive Psychology.The Centre is committed to nurturing curious, capable and confident learners through high-quality educational experiences,



strong partnerships with families and a deep respect for childhood as a unique and important stage of life.The RoleThe Head of Early Years provides strategic and operational leadership of the Centre for Early Education (CEEd), ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care aligned with the Centre's philosophy, Ballarat Grammar's values and all regulatory requirements.Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the Head of Early Years leads a large and dedicated team of educators and support staff while maintaining a strong focus on educational excellence, child safety, family engagement and continuous improvement.Working closely with the School's leadership team, the Head of Early Years will:Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Centre for Early EducationProvide educational leadership across programs for children from six months to school entryFoster a culture of excellence,



collaboration and continuous improvementLead and develop a high-performing team of educators and support staffEnsure compliance with the National Quality Framework and all regulatory requirementsOversee quality improvement initiatives and maintain the Centre's solid reputation for excellenceBuild strong partnerships with families and the wider Ballarat Grammar communityManage enrolments, transitions and inclusion programsLead budgeting, resource management and operational planningPromote and champion the Centre's philosophy, including its commitment to the Reggio Emilia Educational Project, Nature Pedagogy and Positive PsychologyAbout YouThe successful candidate will be an experienced and highly regarded early childhood leader with a demonstrated capacity to lead complex educational environments.You will demonstrate:Significant leadership experience within an early childhood education and care settingComprehensive knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard and relevant legislationStrong understanding of contemporary early childhood pedagogy and child developmentExperience leading quality improvement, compliance and assessment processesProven ability to lead, mentor and develop high-performing teamsHighly developed communication and relationship-building skillsA commitment to child safety, inclusion and family partnershipsStrong strategic, operational and financial management capabilityAlignment with the values and educational philosophy of Ballarat GrammarClosing DateWednesday 5 August, **** at 5pmChild SafetyBallarat Grammar maintains a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and is committed to the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of all children and young people.All staff are expected to actively contribute to a child-safe culture and comply with the School's Child Safety and Wellbeing policies, procedures and standards.
