This role is responsible in maintaining accurate records and preparing reports relating to companion animals.You can also expect to:Delivering enforcement activities, on time, and to meet expectations in terms of quality, deliverables, and outcomeProvide consistency in law enforcement to keep people safe, with the opportunity for the community to maintain their lifestyle and enjoyment of the local areaIdentifying and resolving issues in a timely manner to maintain a quality service and a positive customer experienceDelivering value for all stakeholders in an ethical, social, and environmentally responsible mannerMaintaining up to date knowledge of statutory and policy changes applicable to team enforcement activitiesMediate disputes between residents where appropriate and respond to and investigate complaintsLiaise with veterinarians, shelters, and animal welfare organisations and assess and respond to animal welfare concerns in accordance with legislative responsibilities.Prepare briefs of evidence and attend court proceedings when necessaryAbout youWe are looking for someone who:Minimum Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services)
or equivalent enforcement qualificationsKnowledge and understanding of the Companian Animals Act **** and other legislation relevant to the positionCurrent Driver's Licence Class CAbility to work a 7-day roster and work on call after hours as requiredAbility to prepare and conduct community education programs and to engage with the community.Prior experience handling of dogs and animal managementPrior experience working in an enforcement role or animal management roleOur benefits and cultureAs an organisation, we pride ourselves in offering a flexible working environment centred on delivering great outcomes for our customers, whether internal or external.
