Why this role mattersThe Salvation Army(Salvos)is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country.

We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach,financial assistance, community connection and referral services.About the roleAs an Initial Assessment & Planning Worker, you will be the first point of contact for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
You will provide compassionate intake, assessment, information, and advice, helping people understand their options and access the most appropriate supports and services.
This role is pivotal in delivering a responsive and person-centred experience for clients during times of housing crisis.Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted for 12 months, based in Geelong, VIC.ConditionsCompensation is in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.How you will make an impactProvide compassionate intake, assessment, information, and referral services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing crisisConduct comprehensive assessments, including risk assessments, to identify client needs and develop appropriate support pathwaysDeliver crisis intervention, advocacy, and practical support using strengths-based and solutions-focused approachesBuild and maintain strong relationships with community services and support networks to connect clients with the right resourcesMaintain accurate client records, reporting,
