Beyond Barriers Gippsland Pty Ltd – Morwell VICCasual Disability Support Worker – GippslandJoin the team at Beyond Barriers GippslandWe are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our growing team across Gippsland on a casual basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support people living with disabilities to build independence, achieve their goals and actively engage in their communities.About the RoleAs a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support to participants in their homes and within the community.
You will play an important role in enhancing participants' quality of life through practical assistance, personal care and meaningful social support.This position is casual requiring the ability to work at least 10 hours per week.
Applicants must be available at least 1 weekend a month and some evenings.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist clients with various household tasks, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry, to ensure a protected and comfortable living environment.Provide hands‐on personal care based on individual client needs, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management.Encourage and support clients in developing and maintaining their independence and self‐confidence by offering guidance and assistance as needed.Foster meaningful connections with clients through active listening, companionship, and empathy, promoting mental and emotional well‐being.Conduct regular assessments of clients' needs and progress,
maintaining accurate records and promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.Maintain participant health records and documentation.Always ensure the safety and well‐being of clients, following established safety protocols and infection control measures.About YouWe are looking for people who are:Compassionate, patient and reliableStrong communicators with excellent interpersonal skillsSkilled in building rapport and maintaining professional relationshipsAble to work independently and collaboratively within a teamPassionate about supporting people to live independentlyPhysically capable of undertaking the duties of the roleMust live within 1 hour of MorwellSkills & ExperienceA certificate III or IV in individual support, or a diploma in community services (desirable)Minimum 6 months experience in disability support or a similar role (desirable)Current Driver's Licence and Comprehensive Car InsuranceCurrent NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
