AllControls is seeking a skilled Junior Workshop Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join our team in Bayswater North, VIC.
This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks in a fast-paced workshop environment.
You will be responsible for wiring and repairing panels, and maintaining a range of equipment and systems, playing a crucial role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
This role combines hands-on technical work with problem-solving expertise, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic workshop setting.
Key responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on mechanical and electrical equipment to identify and resolve issues before they upscale
Experience in general mechanical & electrical fitting is preferred.
Repair and replace faulty components, ensuring all work meets safety standards and quality specifications
Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble equipment according to technical specifications and drawings
Building gas/oil burner assemblies including electrical wiring/installationand gas trains.
Manufacturing gas control panels and valve/gas train assemblies and pressure proving equipment
Servicing gas regulators and meters
Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements in accurate work records
Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems using appropriate diagnostic techniques
Maintain and calibrate tools and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
What we're looking for
Experience in mechanical maintenance and electrical wiring, is desired plus a thirst to learn
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
Solid understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and safety protocols,



including lock-out/tag-out procedures
Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised diagnostic equipment
Experience in working with gas/oil burners, gas pressure regulators and metersan advantage.
Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to think systematically through complex issues
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship
Ability to work independently whilst also functioning effectively as part of a team
Sound communication skills and the ability to document work accurately
Current understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices
A valid driver's licence is desirable
