About the Communication Branch
The Communication Branch delivers targeted and effective communication services and advice to support the NDIS Commission to achieve its purpose.
The Branch is responsible for leading the Commission's strategic communication, media, digital channels, creative services and internal communication activities.
The Assistant Commissioner, Communication leads the Branch which has three teams
Internal Communication and Channels
Media and Social Media, and
External Communication.
About the opportunities
This advertisement is for two ongoing vacancies at the Executive Level 2 classification.
A description and duties for each Director position is provided below, followed by the capabilities applicable to both positions.

Director, Internal Communication and Channels
The Director, Internal Communication and Channels reports to the Assistant Commissioner Communication and provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the internal communication and digital channels functions.
The Director Internal Communication and Channels leads a team and is responsible for delivering high quality, timely communication to support organisational priorities, employee events as well as managing our digital and internal communication platforms, including the intranet and website.
The Director Internal Communication and Channels also delivers secretariat functions for senior leadership governance fora and liaises closely with Senior Executives and Office of the Commissioner and Associate Commissioner to coordinate this effectively.

Media and Social Media
The Director Media and Social Media reports to the Assistant Commissioner Communication and provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the NDIS Commission's media and social media functions.
The Director Media and social media leads the NDIS Commission's media and social media functions, including proactive and reactive media activities, media monitoring and liaison with ministerial staff on media matters, and social media strategy development and implementation.
The key duties of the position include:
Duties of Director, Internal Communication and Channels may include, but are not limited to, the following
:
Lead and manage a team, setting priorities and ensuring high quality delivery that contributes to building an inclusive and positive organisational culture.
Provide strategic oversight and governance of the NDIS Commission's intranet and public website, ensuring content is accurate, meets or exceeds accessibility standards and is aligned to organisational priorities.
Oversee planning, production and distribution of the organisation's fortnightly internal newsletter and governance of internal communication channels.
Deliver strategic internal communication advice to divisions and major programs, ensuring alignment across internal and digital platforms.
Duties of Director, Media and Social Media may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead and manage a team,



setting priorities and ensuring high quality delivery of media activities that build the NDIS Commissions profile and reputation.
Provide strategic oversight and governance of the Commission's social media strategy and platforms, ensuring content is accurate, meets or exceeds accessibility standards and is aligned to organisational priorities.
Identify and pitch media opportunities that highlight safeguarding and compliance activities, promote NDIS regulatory obligations and position the NDIS Commission as a formidable regulator.
Ensure the delivery of high quality proactive and reactive media activities, contributing to the effective delivery of the NDIS Commission's regulatory approach.
