We are currently seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join a Major Projects team
The Opportunity
Working closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Administrators and commercial stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project cost forecasts, monitoring expenditure and preparing executive-level financial reporting for senior leadership.
You will also be responsible for creating and enhancing Power BI dashboards, providing meaningful project insights that support informed decision-making across the project leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain integrated project cost forecasts across multiple project work packagesCollate vendor forecasts and Owner's Team forecasts into a consolidated project forecastMonitor actual project expenditure against approved budgets and forecastsDevelop monthly project cost reports, dashboards and executive updatesProduce annual forecasts and whole-of-project cost forecastsCreate, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide explicit and interactive reporting for project stakeholders and executive leadershipAnalyse project performance data and identify cost trends, risks and opportunitiesManage project cost centres and support financial governance requirementsRaise purchase requisitions and work closely with the Project Administrator to convert approved requisitions into purchase ordersSupport monthly reporting cycles, accruals and forecast reviewsCollaborate with Project Managers, Commercial teams and Finance to ensure accurate project reporting
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:




Previous experience as a Cost Controller on major mining or resources projectsStrong understanding of project cost control, forecasting and financial reportingExperience supporting major capital, sustaining capital or infrastructure projectsDemonstrated experience preparing executive-level cost reports and dashboardsAdvanced Power BI skills with the ability to build new dashboards and reporting solutions from the ground upExperience managing project cost centres and financial trackingStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detailExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environmentExperience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar project financial systems is highly regardedAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills
