Join the City
of Wanneroo's Operational Engineering Maintenance team as a Leading
Hand and play a key role in maintaining our transport and drainage
infrastructure that supports our growing community.
We are seeking
an experienced and motivated leader with a strong background in
road, drainage and infrastructure maintenance who enjoys leading
and being proactive in delivering quality outcomes and making a
visible difference every day.
This permanent full-time opportunity
offers a 9-day fortnight, early starts and the chance to work on a
diverse range of minor work repairs across one of Western
Australia's fastest-growing local government areas.
About
the Role
This hands-on
leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors,
leading by example and contributing to the maintenance of essential
transport and drainage infrastructure assets.
You will coordinate
and support a skilled maintenance General Hand while operating a
range of plant and equipment, including but not limited to trucks,
skid steers, rollers and specialised maintenance tools.
Safety,
teamwork and quality workmanship are at the heart of everything we
do.
The
successful candidate will be responsible for:
Lead,
mentor and support an Engineering Maintenance General Hand to
deliver high-quality maintenance outcomes.
Safely
operate and maintain a broad range of plant, equipment and
tools.
Deliver
road, drainage and infrastructure maintenance works that help
keep our community connected and safe.
Promote
a positive safety culture and ensure work is completed
efficiently and to a high standard

General Hand to achieve great results.
You bring solid technical
knowledge, a commitment to safety and the ability to adapt to




changing priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Applicants
must be able to demonstrate through their resume and cover letter
that they meet the following criteria:
Demonstrated experience
leading and motivating maintenance or civil construction
teams.
Strong
communication skills with the ability to build positive working
relationships and contribute to a collaborative team
environment.
Sound
knowledge of road, drainage and civil infrastructure
maintenance practices.
Experience operating and
maintaining a variety of plant and equipment used in
infrastructure maintenance activities.
Confidence using
information systems, mobile technology and workplace
applications.
Strong
commitment to workplace safety, including hazard
identification, risk management and safe work
practices.
Main
Roads WA Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic
Controller accreditation.
Current
MR Class Driver's Licence.
Construction Industry
White Card (or equivalent safety awareness
certification).
Ability
to undertake physically demanding outdoor work.
