Role ReviewAs a Retail Sales Assistant at Habitat Pet Supplies, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service and driving sales.
You will be the face of the brand, assisting customers in finding the right products for their pets and providing expert advice on pet care.
The role requires a customer-first approach, ensuring each shopper has a satisfying experience.
Additionally, you will work as part of a dynamic team, contributing to a collaborative and positive store environment.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist customers with enthusiasm, understanding their needs and providing expert recommendations on pet supplies and productsActively engage in the sales process, helping customers select products, explaining promotions, and upselling where appropriate to meet store targetsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of pet care products, including nutrition, grooming, and accessories,



to confidently assist customersWork closely with other team members to ensure smooth store operations, supporting your colleagues as needed and contributing to a positive team cultureAssist with stock management tasks, including restocking shelves, managing product displays and performing inventory checks, including supporting the stocktake processEnsure the store is clean, well-organised, and presentable at all times, following store procedures for merchandising and safetyThe ability to accomplish set tasks efficiently, within the allocated time frameThe ability to heavy lift up to 20kgsThe ability to conduct yourself safely in the workplace, using your personal responsibility to manage risks and report hazardsFlexibility with work hours, including week days, weekends and public holidays.Key SkillsA sound understanding of the health and care of pets, including dog, cats, small animals, birds, reptiles and fish (preferred)A genuine love and concern for the wellbeing of animalsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a rapid-paced retail environmentAbility to work effectively as part of a team, supporting and assisting colleaguesBasic math skills for handling transactions and processing payments with accuracy.
