Employment Type: Permanent Part TimePosition Classification: Health Education OfficerRemuneration: *************Hours Per Week: 19Requisition ID: REQ******Advertising Closes: 08 June ****What you'll be doing As the Aboriginal Peer Worker you will use lived experience as an Aboriginal person navigating your own mental health journey to support people using the mental health service.
You will be based in Port Macquarie and will also outreach to Kempsey.You will build rapport and promote hope for the people you work with.
You will ensure that the care pathways are culturally appropriate and people are given the appropriate support to access other services.
There is also an aim that you will be able to contribute to building the cultural capacity of the service to work with Aboriginal people in environments and systems that are not always appropriate for Aboriginal people.
