RV Damage & Technical Assessor (Caravans & Motorhomes)
Your job should be an adventure.
Why settle for anything less?
We're Camplify — the peer-to-peer van-sharing platform that's changed the way people explore the world.
Part of Camplify Holdings Limited (ASX: CHL), we power three travel brands across seven countries, from Australia's beaches to the Bavarian Alps.
We were born in Newcastle in ****, named #4 in the AFR's Most Innovative Companies, and we're still very much a startup at heart: fast, ambitious, and a little obsessed with getting people outdoors.
Behind the scenes, our Insurance & Resolutions team keeps that community safe and supported.
We operate as a Discretionary Mutual, which means every claims decision we make directly protects our members.
That's a meaningful responsibility, and we take it seriously.
At MyWay Mutual, we protect the ultimate Australian dream: hitting the open road.
We insure caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes, and RVs, keeping our members moving and exploring.
As our community grows, we are expanding our internal team to ensure our members receive top-tier technical expertise when they need it most.
Job Requirements
Love solving puzzles that involve chassis alignment, composite panels, and complex repair quotes?
We are looking for an RV Damage & Technical Assessor to join our Insurance and Resolutions team in Newcastle.
Based out of our Wickham office, you will be the technical advisor for our claims operations.
You will evaluate high-complexity claims, validate repair scopes, manage vehicle write-offs, and ensure all repairs meet strict Australian and New Zealand regulatory standards.
This role blends sharp desktop assessment with technical dispute resolution, making it perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving and handling complex files from end to end.
What You'll Do
Play Detective: Conduct detailed assessments of RVs using digital evidence,

photos, and documentation to figure out what happened.
You will differentiate between fresh incident damage, manufacturing defects, and old wear-and-tear.
Keep Things Fair: Audit repair quotes submitted by our network to ensure accurate parts procurement, appropriate repair methodologies, and fair labor rates.
Investigate Big Files: Manage high-value losses (exceeding $20,000) and claims flagged for potential fraud or non-disclosure, building solid evidence files for management approval.
Be the Expert Voice: Support the internal resolutions team during owner/hirer disputes by translating complex structural, gas, or electrical repair concepts into plain, everyday language.
Safety First: Ensure all approved repairs comply with vehicle safety standards, electrical/gas certifications, and statutory write-off regulations.
What You Bring to the Table:
Local Roots: You are based in the Newcastle region and ready to collaborate with the team in our Wickham office a minimum of 3 days per week.
RV Expertise: You have 3–5 years of experience as a Motor Loss Assessor, Claims Estimator, or Desktop Assessor, specifically working with caravans, camper trailers, or motorhomes.
Trade Background: You hold a recognized Australian trade qualification in Vehicle Body Building or Panel Beating.
You know caravan manufacturing inside out and understand structural integrity.
Rules & Regulations Savvy: You have a solid understanding of Australian and New Zealand Design Rules, RV-specific gas and electrical requirements,

and statutory write-off regulations (WOVR).
Tech Literacy: You are comfortable jumping between industry-standard motor estimating platforms and cloud-based CRMs.
Cool Under Pressure: You have strong negotiation skills, stay objective when things get busy, and write clear, fact-based reports.
Bonus points for:
Experience within an Insurance Mutual or Discretionary Trust environment
Deep knowledge of caravan/motorhome repair sectors
