We are offering an 18-week full-time paid traineeship as your pathway to a career within the Conservation/Bush Regeneration and Ecosystem Management industry.
Combining both hands-on experiences and theory based learning, this traineeship will not only help you to gain vital bush regeneration skills, but also help you gain confidence to apply for full time positions within the industry upon completion.
This program is funded by the Queensland Government SKILLING QUEENSLANDERS FOR WORK (SQW) and is a Work Skills Traineeship, offering tailored assistance to disadvantaged Queenslanders to gain nationally recognised skills and vocational qualifications.

There are multiple career outcomes from this program that could include working in Bush Regeneration as a Park Ranger, Ecologist Field Hand or Parks and Gardens.
Over the 18 weeks, you will learn practical Bush Regeneration skills on the job, combined with classroom study to gain your Certificate 1 in Conservation and Ecosystem management, plus gain other essential qualifications.
Work hands-on at Garima Conservation Reserve, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and associated properties within the Currumbin Region, where you will gain experience working on real world bush regeneration projects.
First Nations peoples, WorkForce Australia clients and Transition to Work clients are especially encouraged to apply for this traineeship.

Gain qualifications in First Aid and CPR, Construction White Card, ACDC Chemical Operators Licence, Chainsaw Operations Level 1
This program includes wrap around support including Mentor assistance, job seeking skills and Wellbeing support.
Attend Industry Employer Connect events and excursions
All equipment and uniform provided
Eligibility/ Selection Criteria To meet Queensland Government Funding Requirements and to be considered, you MUST include answers to the below 9 statements in your resume and cover letter when applying:
Be a Queensland Resident currently living in the Gold Coast area
Hold a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
Be unemployed/irregular employment for the previous 6 months
Be aged 15 years+ and no longer enrolled at school
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or temporary resident with visa to permanent residency
NOT previously have completed a Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) program
If you are registered with a Workforce Australia provider, please include their name, office and contact details in your cover letter
Be able to pass a National Police Check
Be motivated and ready to commit to full attendance of an 18-week course and traineeship completion that starts on Monday 10th of August to Friday 11th of December ****

If you are shortlisted, you will need to be available to attend a compulsory 20-minute interview in person at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on Monday 20th July ****
