Build a Trade.
Build a Career.
Arkus Industries is a proudly Australian, family-owned sheetmetal manufacturing business based in Fyshwick.
We manufacture premium sheetmetal products for residential, commercial and industrial projects across Canberra and beyond.
We're not looking for just anyone.
We're looking for someone who wants to become an exceptional tradesperson.
Our standards are high because our customers expect quality, and so do we.
We take pride in our work, back each other as a team, and believe that doing the job properly the first time matters.
If you're prepared to work hard, learn every day and challenge yourself, we'll invest heavily in teaching you a trade that will last a lifetime.
No experience is necessary.
We can teach you the trade.
What we can't teach is reliability, work ethic or attitude.
What You'll Learn
Working alongside qualified tradespeople, you'll gain hands-on experience in:
MIG and TIG welding
Sheetmetal fabrication and assembly
Operating workshop machinery and specialised equipment
Reading and interpreting technical drawings
Measuring, marking out and fabrication calculations
Safe workshop practices
Manufacturing quality products from start to finish
Every day is hands-on, with real projects and real responsibility.
What We're Looking For

This isn't a job for someone who just wants to collect a pay cheque.
Successful applicants must:
Turn up on time, every day.
Be reliable—we depend on every member of our team.
Have an outstanding work ethic and be willing to work hard.
Have solid maths and reading skills, as this trade involves measurements, calculations and interpreting technical drawings every day.
Be willing to learn, accept feedback and continually improve.
Follow instructions while showing initiative.
Take pride in producing quality work.
Work respectfully as part of a team.
Have reliable transport to and from our Fyshwick workshop.
Have full working rights in Australia.
Essential Requirements
Must be 17 years of age or older.
Must have completed Year 10 (or equivalent) as a minimum.
A current driver's licence is highly desirable.
The next CIT apprenticeship intake commences in ****, giving you a unique opportunity to get a head start.
Successful applicants will commence employment immediately as a full time Apprentice Sheetmetal Worker, gaining valuable hands-on workshop experience while completing a six-month probationary period.
We invest heavily in our apprentices and are committed to training people who are genuinely committed to building a career in the sheetmetal industry.

During your probation, you'll be developing the practical skills, work habits and industry knowledge that will set you up for success.
Once you successfully complete your probationary period, you'll be formally signed into your apprenticeship -Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal).
The months you've already worked will count towards your overall four-year apprenticeship, meaning you'll begin your formal training with minimum 6 months of real industry experience already behind you—putting you well ahead of many of your classmates from day one.
What You'll Receive
Full-time employment.
A nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Sheetmetal).
Hands-on training from experienced tradespeople.
Exposure to a wide range of fabrication equipment and manufacturing processes.
A supportive, family-owned workplace.
Long-term career opportunities for the right person.
