As demand for large-scale ecological restoration continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Native Seed Collector / Restoration Ecologist to join our team.
Our services span the entire restoration journey, combining scientific expertise with practical field delivery to achieve successful ecological outcomes.
We support clients through every stage of the seeding process, from restoration planning aligned with international standards, on-ground soil and vegetation mapping, and location-specific seed selection, through to seed sourcing, specialised seed treatments, precision seeding, and early plant life-stage monitoring.
As our Senior Native Seed Collector / Restoration Ecologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality native seed collection programs across Western Australia, helping to ensure the right seed is collected, processed and supplied to restore landscapes for future generations.
About the Role
This is a senior, hands-on position responsible for leading provenance-based native seed collection programs across Western Australia.
Working closely with clients and internal project teams, you'll coordinate collection activities, ensure compliance with licence requirements, and maintain the highest standards of seed quality, traceability and ecological integrity.
You'll play an important role in mentoring team members, sharing your technical knowledge, and helping build capability within our growing seed team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate field-based native seed collection programs across Western Australia.




Develop and manage client collection plans to achieve project targets.
Ensure compliance with collection licences, provenance requirements and industry best practice.
Oversee seed processing, cleaning, testing, storage, stocktakes and dispatch of seed orders.
Maintain accurate collection, provenance and inventory records.
Use GIS and mapping software to identify and record collection locations and support project reporting.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Seed Collectors and Restoration staff.
Support continuous improvement of seed collection, propagation and restoration practices.
Contribute to safe field operations across remote and regional Western Australia.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong botanical knowledge with practical field experience and enjoys leading by example.
You'll ideally have:
At least five years' experience in native seed collection, restoration ecology or native plant propagation.
Excellent knowledge of Western Australian flora, particularly within the Jarrah Forest and Pilbara regions.
Demonstrated experience managing provenance-based seed collection programs that at times are remote and involve trips that are multiple weeks in duration.
Experience with native seed processing, storage and quality management.
Strong understanding of seed collection licensing requirements and record keeping.
Experience using GIS, mapping software and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
The ability to work independently while supporting and mentoring others.
A positive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
Qualifications
Certificate or Diploma in Horticulture, Botany, Conservation, Land Management or a related discipline.
