Permanent and
Fixed-Term appointments working Full-Time, Part-Time and Casual
hours are on offer.
Fixed-Term appointments have the possibility of
extension and/or permanency.

in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar
vacancies occur.

About the Clinical Nurse Specialist role:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is responsible for
contributing and overseeing delivery of quality patient care within
their area of specialty.
The CNS works collaboratively to improve
and promote desired outcomes for consumer through the development
of standards of practice, implementation of changes to clinical
practice, initiating research and quality improvement activities;
and the provision of a consultation service within their area of
expertise/assigned area to all customers within the Health Service.
Key duties of this role include, but are not limited to;
Works collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and
other stakeholders to provide coordinated and integrated
nursing care for mental health consumers within a Care
Coordination Framework.
Provides care coordination of an allocated case load
undertaking assessment of consumers in the clinic and community
settings and providing a range of community mental health
interventions using a variety of skills and therapies.
Undertakes comprehensive mental health triage as required.
Provides expert clinical consultancy and liaison service
for a broad range of stakeholders internal to health to assist
with physical health screening and preventative
activities.
Performs duties in accordance with the EMHS Vision and
Values, WA Health Code of Conduct, Work Health and Safety
legislation, the Disability Services Act and the Equal
Opportunity Act and Government, WA Health, EMHS and
Departmental / Program specific policies and procedures.

Service:
The Midland Community Mental Health service provides specialist
clinical mental health services to individuals aged *****.
The specialists treat those:
Who are not responding well to treatment for mental illness
in a primary care setting (e.g. General Practitioners)




With severe and complex mental health issues/illness
Have a significant level of disturbance and psychosocial
disability due to their illness that has a significant impact
on their functioning
Significant functional difficulties that require
coordination of care and support across multiple agencies,
family, friends, support people, carers and providers
Would benefit from a multi-disciplinary team due to the
intensive or complex nature of care required.
