Job DescriptionDrivex Auto Solutions pty Ltd Goodyear Autocare Palmerston is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic (General) to join our professional workshop team.
We are looking for a motivated individual with strong diagnostic and repair skills who is committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and road testing techniques.
Conduct scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and logbook servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Repair and overhaul petrol and diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials and associated drivetrain components.
Inspect, test and repair steering, suspension and braking systems to ensure safe vehicle operation.
Remove, dismantle, repair, replace and reassemble defective mechanical components and vehicle systems.
Carry out repairs to engine management, ignition, fuel injection and cooling systems.
Perform wheel alignments, balancing and other mechanical adjustments where required.
Test vehicle performance after repairs to ensure faults have been rectified and vehicles meet manufacturer and safety standards.
Replace worn or damaged parts and components using appropriate tools and workshop equipment.
Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Assist in maintaining a clean, organised and productive workshop while delivering exceptional customer service.




Essential Requirements AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification.
At least two years of relevant post-qualification work experience , or a minimum of three years of relevant experience where permitted.
Strong knowledge of petrol and diesel vehicle systems.
Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical faults.
Experience using modern automotive diagnostic equipment.
Sound understanding of Australian workplace health and safety practices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Current driver's licence preferred.
