We are currently seeking a capable and driven Underground Mining Engineer to join our growing technical team.
About the RoleAs an Underground Mining Engineer at Techtonic Mining Solutions, you will support the planning, design, and operational delivery of mining projects.
Working under the guidance of our Principal Engineers, you will gain hands-on experience across a range of project types and grow your technical capabilities in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities• Drive shift-level and daily production planning, including short-interval control and reconciliation against monthly schedules• Develop and issue ring designs, stope extraction sequences, and decline/development designs using Deswik Suite (CAD, UGDB, IS)• Plan and oversee drill and blast operations: hole design, charge sheets, initiation systems, and post-blast inspection and reconciliation• Provide on-shift technical support to supervisors and operators — bridging site execution and the mine plan• Coordinate with geology, survey, and geotechnical teams to ensure designs are current and reflect ground conditions• Prepare production reports,



variance analysis, and technical updates for clients• Identify and implement production improvement opportunities — cycle time, equipment utilisation, face availability• Contribute to stope note preparation, ground support design review, and pre-production checklists• Participate in hazard identification, risk assessments, and toolbox talks upholding safety standards
About You• Experience with underground stoping methods (sublevel open stoping, longhole, AVOCA) and development production cycles• Proficient in Deswik CAD and UGDB; exposure to Deswik IS or scheduling tools advantageous• Working knowledge of drill and blast, geotechnical and survey technical functions• Strong technical reporting capability — you can write a concise, accurate production report and present it clearly• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Good written and verbal communication skills• WA C Class Driver's Licence (essential)• Willingness to travel to site as required
