About the role
Hobart Scaffolding is seeking experienced Scaffolders to join our team on a casual basis.
This is a hands-on position based in Hobart, TAS, where you will be responsible for the erection, maintenance and dismantling of scaffolding structures on various construction and maintenance projects.
As a Scaffolder, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe working environments for construction teams and other tradespeople across our diverse project portfolio.
This casual position offers flexibility whilst providing ongoing opportunities for work as our project pipeline demands.
Key responsibilities
Erect, modify and dismantle scaffolding structures in compliance with Australian Standards and safety regulations
Inspect scaffolding systems to ensure structural integrity and safe working conditions
Read and interpret scaffolding plans, drawings and specifications accurately
Conduct pre-use safety checks on all scaffolding components and materials
Secure and brace scaffolding structures to prevent movement or collapse
Install safety features including guardrails, fall arrest systems and warning signs
Maintain accurate records of scaffolding installations and inspections
Communicate effectively with site supervisors, safety coordinators and other tradespeople regarding scaffolding safety and requirements
Work at heights safely using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall prevention systems
Keep work areas clean and tidy, removing debris and hazards as required
What we're looking for
Current Scaffolder ticket or equivalent qualification recognised in Tasmania
Proven experience working as a Scaffolder in commercial and/or residential construction environments
Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Standards for scaffolding (AS/NZS ****:****)
Strong understanding of safe work practices and commitment to workplace safety
Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions




Physical fitness and manual dexterity to handle heavy materials and equipment
Excellent attention to detail and ability to read technical drawings accurately
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Current First Aid Certificate (preferred but not essential)
White Card or equivalent site induction certification (may be required depending on project location)
Reliable transport to various job sites across the Hobart region
