Why this role mattersMoneycare walks alongside people during some of the most challenging moments of their financial journey.
As a Financial Capability Worker, you will help community members build confidence, skills and long-term financial capability so they can make informed decisions and feel more in control of their future.
This is meaningful, relational work that strengthens wellbeing, dignity and independence.
About the roleIn this role, you will work to engage community groups, provide community workshops, facilitate one on one money worries support, and share money education to eligible people across the Northern Territory.
You will work within the Moneycare Practice Framework and The Salvation Army Mission and Values, offering a safe, respectful and empowering service.
This role does not include providing financial counselling, financial advice or support with complex financial or legal matters.
This is a permanent full-time role, with the option to negotiate 0.8 FTE.
Pay is in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.

What you will bring:Cert III in Community Services or related field or willingness to obtainFinancial Literacy Education Skill Set or willingness to obtainExperience working with people from diverse backgroundsUnderstanding of local Aboriginal communities and cultureStrong communication skills, including working with people who may not have English as a first languageAbility to meet deadlines and manage competing prioritiesDemonstrated money management and negotiation skillsAbility to operate autonomously and within the Moneycare team and the site teamAbility to work with people experiencing hardship or crisisA person centred, relational and strengths-based approachCurrent Working with Children's Check (Orche Card)
