The RoleAs a member of the Joint Experimentation Directorate's (JED) Experimentation Team, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of joint experimentation and wargaming activities that support Defence's future force design, capability development and strategic decision-making.
You will be responsible for leading experimentation activities, ensuring outcomes generate actionable insights to support evidence-based decision-making.
The role involves coordinating complex activities, managing multiple stakeholders, and preparing high-quality briefs, reports and recommendations for senior Defence leaders.
You will identify opportunities to enhance Defence experimentation activities through the application of contemporary thinking, emerging technologies, lessons identified and best-practice methodologies from across Defence, industry, academia and international partners.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team comprising ADF, APS and contractors, you will build and maintain strong relationships across Defence, industry, academia and international partner organisations.
Through these engagements, you will contribute to the delivery of experimentation outcomes that support future force design, capability development and strategic decision-making.
About our TeamJED delivers Defence's annual Joint Experimentation Program on behalf of the Vice Chief of the Defence Force and other senior sponsors.
The Experimentation Team brings together expertise from across Defence, industry, academia and international partners to test new ideas,
challenge assumptions and explore future operating challenges.
Working across a diverse range of capability and force design issues, the team provides a structured environment for evaluating options and generating evidence to inform decision-making.
Operating in a dynamic and collaborative environment, the team designs and delivers experimentation and wargaming activities that connect stakeholders, integrate diverse perspectives and enable informed discussions on future challenges and opportunities.
The team plays a key role in ensuring experimentation outcomes are effectively captured, analysed and translated into actionable insights for Defence sponsors and stakeholders.
