Job DescriptionThe Trustee for THE CUTTING BOARD TRUST The Role As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals while ensuring food is presented consistently and kitchen operations run efficiently.
You will work closely with the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, season and cook a variety of breakfast, brunch, lunch and café menu items in accordance with approved recipes.
Prepare ingredients and complete daily food preparation before service.
Ensure meals are cooked and presented to a consistently high standard.
Monitor cooking times and portion sizes to maintain quality and minimise food waste.
Assist with planning daily food preparation and coordinating workflow during busy service periods.
Check the quality of ingredients and ensure food is stored, handled and rotated in accordance with food safety requirements.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, workstations and food preparation areas.
Assist with stock control, stock rotation and reporting ingredients that require replenishment.
Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.




Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and a positive working environment.
What
We're Looking For Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or an equivalent qualification.
At least one year of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
Experience working in a busy café or restaurant environment.
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Robust communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, organised and committed to producing high-quality food.
Availability to work weekends, public holidays and rotating shifts.
