The Role:
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter or Electrical Fitter with proven experience in industrial, manufacturing, processing, production line, quarry, or heavy industry environments.
This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise will directly contribute to the performance, reliability and ongoing improvement of our fertiliser blending and bagging operations.
Working as part of a team-oriented maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, equipment repairs and improvement initiatives that maximise plant availability and operational performance.
This role offers the opportunity to work across both our Canberra and Yass operations,

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the bagging plant.
Diagnose production equipment issues and implement effective repairs.
Support continuous improvement and plant optimisation.
Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications and small projects.
Minimise downtime by working collaboratively with operations.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance and risk management.
Key Skills & Experience Required
Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or Electrical Fitter
Experience working with:
Conveyors and material-handling equipment
Bagging, packaging, or similar production machinery
Motors, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics
Electrical systems (for electrical fitters), including fault-finding and basic control systems
General industrial plant equipment
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capability
Experience in factory, production line, quarry, or heavy-industry settings
Understanding of WHS requirements and safe-work practices
Bonus but not essential: experience with heavy-vehicles, diesel engines, or mobile plant equipment
