About the Role
Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for early skin cancer detection?
We are seeking a skilled, proactive, and patient-focused Casual Melanographer to join our busy clinic in Orange.
In this specialised clinical imaging role, you will conduct comprehensive digital skin assessments and mole mapping, using advanced dermoscopy and total body photography to image, monitor, and triage suspicious lesions for medical review.
Acting as a critical link in the diagnostic chain, you will work closely with our GPs to support exceptional, patient-focused care.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform total body dermoscopy for skin cancer surveillance and routine monitoring
Capture high-quality dermoscopic images and accurately document lesion location and characteristics in the Practice Management System
Maintain accurate,
consistent photographic records to support longitudinal monitoring of skin lesions
Identify, flag, and escalate new, changing, or suspicious lesions for GP review in line with clinic protocols
Prepare patients for imaging, ensuring privacy, dignity, and informed consent
Provide general skin health and sun safety education within scope (non-diagnostic)
Ensure daily calibration, cleanliness, and functionality of imaging equipment to maintain image quality
Maintain accurate patient records and strict confidentiality in accordance with the Privacy Act **** (Cth) and organisational policy
What We are Looking For:
Current AHPRA registration (RN/EN)
Formal qualification in Melanography or a Professional Certificate in Dermoscopy
Minimum 12 months post-certification experience
Exceptional attention to detail in observing, capturing, and documenting skin lesions
Experience in clinical software (Best Practice) and imaging systems (DermEngine) preferred but not essential.
Current professional indemnity insurance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, professional, patient-centred approach
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative clinical team
