Description
Lifestyle Team Member – Creative Activities & Events
Bellmere, QLD | Full-time | Tuesday to Saturday
Are you creative, energetic and naturally good at bringing people together?
Your background may be in childcare, creative arts, community activities, recreation, events, disability support or aged care.
More important than a particular job title is your ability to connect with people, develop engaging ideas and create meaningful experiences.
NewDirection Care Bellmere is the world's first inclusive MICRO TOWN® community.
Our unique model supports residents to experience genuine community, meaningful relationships and the freedom to live according to their individual interests, preferences and abilities.
We are looking for a warm, practical and enthusiastic person to join our supportive Lifestyle and Events team.
About the role
As a Lifestyle and Engagement Team Member, you will create activities, events and individual experiences that bring enjoyment, purpose and connection to residents' daily lives.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and delivering engaging group and one-to-one activities based on residents' interests and abilities
Bringing creativity to activities such as arts and crafts, music, gardening, cooking, celebrations and community events
Supporting residents' independence and physical, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual wellbeing
Assisting with resident outings and occasionally driving the company minivan
Documenting resident participation and contributing to lifestyle and care-planning reviews
Working collaboratively with the Lifestyle Manager and broader care team
About you
Previous aged-care experience is welcomed but not essential.
We would love to hear from people with experience or interests in creative arts, childcare, education, recreation, community services, disability support, events or lifestyle activities.
You may be a outstanding fit if you:
Connect naturally with people from different backgrounds
Bring creativity, enthusiasm and fresh ideas
Feel comfortable facilitating group and individual activities
Are patient, adaptable and responsive to individual needs
Can balance creativity with organisation and documentation requirements
Requirements
Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or willingness to obtain one
A current driver's licence and confidence occasionally driving a company minivan for resident outings —this is not a bus-driving position, and a bus licence is not required
Ability to meet NewDirection Care's vaccination requirements, including influenza and COVID-19
Sound computer skills and the ability to learn our PCS aged-care software
Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia
What we offer
An above-award hourly rate
On-the-job training and support from an experienced team
The freedom to contribute your own creative ideas
Varied and meaningful work in a genuinely unique aged-care community
If you are imaginative, people-focused and looking for a role where your ideas can make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.
NewDirection Care is committed to an inclusive and diverse workforce.
We encourage applications from people of all cultural backgrounds, people living with disability and members of the LGBTIQA+ community.
