We have an exciting opportunity for Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor's to join Powertech on a Mining Shutdown.
Position Overview:
Short-term (Roughly 2-3 swings)
Start Date: From October ****
Duration: Until End November ****
Roster: 2:1 or as required by the project
(Generally, 1 week days/1 week nights - or as required by the project)
Hours: 12 hours per day
Location: Pilbara WA
Super paid on all hours worked & excellent $$$ rates paid
WA based applicants only at this stage (Interstate flights not covered)
Travel first and last day of swing
Scope of Work:
Supervise and coordinate all mechanical commissioning activities during the shutdown, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the shutdown schedule.
Verify mechanical installation quality through inspections, punch list management, alignment checks, torque verification, and compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Lead pre-commissioning activities including flushing, pressure testing, lubrication, rotation checks, and mechanical completion sign-offs for plant equipment.
Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and other commissioning disciplines to plan isolations, equipment handovers, and system start-up activities.
Ensure all commissioning documentation is completed accurately, including test records, mechanical completion certificates, defect registers, commissioning packs, and daily progress reports.
Promote and enforce site HSE standards by conducting pre-start meetings, risk assessments, field leadership activities, and ensuring compliance with permit-to-work, isolation, and shutdown procedures.
About You:
Qualified Fitter/Mechanical tradesperson
S26 training
Trade Certificate
Commissioning experience within Mining is required and /or Iron Ore experience is preferred.
Previous supervisory experience on iron ore processing plants.
CPR / LVR certificates
First Aid
Confined space OR Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment
White card
