The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Corporate Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys working across financial reporting, project accounting, commercial analysis, and stakeholder engagement within a global organisation.
Reporting to the Corporate Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial control activities of the IMDEX corporate entity.
You'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting audit and tax compliance requirements, and assisting the Digital Earth Knowledge (DEK) business unit with accounting and reporting activities.
Success in this role will be measured by the delivery of accurate and timely financial results, well-managed balance sheet reconciliations, strong project accounting outcomes, and seamless support of the corporate finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Manage month-end close activities including accruals, prepayments, loan journals and interest calculations.
Prepare and post monthly journals.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
Partner with Accounts Payable to manage credit cards,



travel expenses and supplier processing.
Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reported in accordance with accounting standards.
Prepare and analyse budget versus actual results for corporate cost centres.
Investigate and explain variances.
Deliver reporting and commentary to stakeholders across the business.
Support reporting for the Digital Earth Knowledge (DEK) business unit.
Review engineering timesheets and labour allocations.
Assess CAPEX and OPEX treatment of project expenditure.
Manage intangible asset work-in-progress reconciliations.
Support project setup, cost category management and IP capitalisation processes.
Prepare audit workpapers and respond to auditor requests.
Assist with half-year and year-end reporting packs.
Support tax compliance activities, including FBT requirements.
Assist with annual insurance renewals and statutory reporting obligations.
What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you'll bring a strong technical accounting foundation along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
CA or CPA qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar financial accounting role.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.




Robust attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement capability.
