POSITION: BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT PRACTITIONER / TEACHER
Reporting to: Directors of "The Charles Street Clinic"
Location: 9 Alvan Street, Mount Lawley, WA, **** and Client-Based Locations Throughout the Perth Region
Hours: Full-Time (38 hours per week)
Salary: 98,759 Per Year (Including Superannuation) and Travel Allowance
Business Overview/Scope of Position
Our clinic provides evidence-based positive behaviour support services to children and adolescents across the Perth metropolitan area.
We work with children and adolescents with disability and/or mental health conditions to develop and implement behaviour support plans that improve quality of life, promote learning skills and reduce restrictive practices.
Your Role
Your key responsibility within our operations is to teach academic and life skills (social, emotional and intellectual) to children and adolescents with learning difficulties (particularly those diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder) through use of the Clinic's treatment programs and recognised evidence based methods to promote development.
You will teach and support parents and carers to use evidenced based practices (eg Natural Workplace Training) to facilitate their child or adolescent's development.




Empower children and adolescents to become independent learners who can navigate their world in a meaningful and secure way.
You will represent the clinic within home and education-based settings.
Key Tasks
Conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessments for children and adolescents with disabilities.
Develop, implement, and review interim and comprehensive behaviour support and learning plans.
Provide training and coaching to families, carers, and support workers.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support strategies.
Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical documentation and case notes.
Liaise and collaborate with other members of the participant's support team (e.g. OTs, speech pathologists, psychologists, support coordinators).
Travel to client-based locations throughout the Perth region to deliver in-home or community-based support.
Participate in supervision, professional development, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
This position requires the minimum of a bachelor's degree level qualification in Psychology or a related field.




Experience working with children and adolescents with disabilities and mental health disorders is critical to this role.
Current suitability to work as a PBS Practitioner at the Core, Proficient, Advanced, or Specialist levels, with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission outcome letter stating your provider number.
Excellent clinical practice and written documentation.
Other Requirements
Must have a positive and contemporary attitude towards children and adolescents with disability.
Must hold a current Working with Children Check, a Federal Police Clearance and a current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Must have a valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Must be able to legally work in Australia (ie are an Australian citizen or hold a valid visa with permission to work).
Required skills
Experience working within an interdisciplinary team
Understanding of person/family centred planning principles
Well-developed oral, written and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Disability Services Standards
Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Legislation
