Female Support Worker Required – Part-Time Role Supporting an Adult with Psychosocial Disability
We are seeking a calm, experienced, mature and professional female support worker to provide in-home and community-based support to a female client with a psychosocial disability (primarily Bi-Polar).
This is a rewarding part-time role focused on promoting independence, recovery, and social connection in a person-centred, recovery-oriented approach.
The client requires a mix of in home care, community acces and social participation.
Key Details:
Shifts: Up to 5 shifts per week, typically 10 am – 2 pm (4 hours each), including some overtime when required and accepted
Location: Client's home in the Inner Western Sydney + occasional community outings (e.g., grocery shopping, clothes shopping)
Requirements: Must hold a current driver's licence, NDIS Clearence, Police Check, and have reliable own vehicle
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Role:
You will provide one-to-one support to assist the client with daily living and social participation, including:
In-home household duties (e.g., light cleaning, meal preparation support)
Assisting with grocery shopping and planning
Providing social support through conversation, encouragement, and companionship
Supporting occasional community outings, such as outings in adult activity program
Promoting goals in a supportive and empowering way
This role requires strong skills in maintaining professional boundaries while continuing to provide consistent, positive support.
The focus is on building trust, encouraging independence, and supporting the client's wellbeing in a calm and non-judgemental workplace.
About You:
Female applicants only (genuine occupational requirement due to the client's gender, comfort, and privacy needs)
Thorough, demonstrated experience supporting adults with psychosocial disabilities, particularly Bi-Polar or similar severe mental health conditions
Proven ability to hold firm but compassionate boundaries, especially with clients who may challenge them
Patient, reliable, empathetic, and skilled in de-escalation and positive behaviour support
Excellent communication skills and ability to build therapeutic rapport
Current driver's licence and own reliable vehicle (essential for community outings; mileage reimbursement available)
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Certificate III/IV in Mental Health, Disability, or Community Services) highly regarded
Must have (or be willing to obtain): NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (if required), Police Check, and First Aid/CPR
