Your New Role
The Senior Analyst is responsible for undertaking daily compliance activities across the Fund's Investments Domain.
The role will undertake AML/KYC activities across the Fund's investment activities, ensuring AUSTRAC, APRA and ASIC obligations are met.
The role will also support the Manager to complete broader compliance assessments and provide advice to support the Fund meet its investment-related regulatory requirements.
Key duties
Ensuring AML/KYC compliant outcomes on all direct private market transactions and external manager appointments;
Managing end-to-end financial crime compliance activities for Investments, including KYC/CDD and sanctions screening.
This involves leveraging industry databases to identify PEPs, SIEs, SIPs and individuals or assets appearing on sanctions lists, responding to KYC requests from external parties, and escalating red flags and capturing outcomes in the relevant register for ongoing monitoring;
Accurately documenting all AML/KYC processes and procedures;
Assisting with interpreting investments-related regulatory developments and their implementation;
Assisting in the review of incidents in the GRC system for Investments Domain to identify and respond on potential regulatory impact;
Acting as a trusted SME for AML/KYC, sanctions and other ad-hoc investments-related compliance matters;
Producing compliance and regulatory reporting as required to the Fund's committees and Senior Management;
Contributing to development of best practice processes and systems that will enable the Fund to better manage risk in an environment of rapid growth and increased direct investment and third-party engagements.
What You'll Need
Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper;
Demonstrated ability to understand and translate regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes;
Tertiary qualifications in a business, law or a related field;
Highly desirable that the candidate has KYC, AML, CTF and / or Anti-Bribery & Corruption experience from working in an institutional client on-boarding team or institutional compliance advisory / analyst role;
Highly desirable experience also includes working in a risk and/or compliance function within a major financial institution, custodian, or superannuation fund,
ideally with exposure to or knowledge of funds management and private equity;
Well-developed analytical skills and a high attention to detail;
Well-developed business writing skills;
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with investment and business stakeholders;
Australian or Current Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency status is required.
