We're now seeking an experiencedSenior Financial Accountantto join our finance team and support the continued success of Melbourne IVF and TAS IVF.
About the Role
Reporting to theNational Accounting Manager, this pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial reporting across our divisions.
You will take ownership of month-end reporting, balance sheet management, taxation compliance and external audits, while partnering closely with operational leaders and Group Finance to deliver meaningful financial insights that support business performance and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
Manage complex accounting areas including payroll journals and recharges, employee-level payroll reconciliations, vendor accruals, fixed assets and key provisions.
Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, impairments and reconciliations.




Prepare surgeon fee schedules and associated invoicing with patient-level and year-to-date reporting.
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and ensure the integrity of financial information.
Analyse and provide commentary on profit and loss and balance sheet movements.
Coordinate half-year and year-end external audits, including auditor liaison and evidence management.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
Partner with the National Accounting Manager to implement process improvements.
Maintain process documentation to support consistency, knowledge transfer and team continuity.
Commercial & Business Support
Contribute financial analysis and insights to budgeting and forecasting activities.
Partner with the Head of Finance and Managing Director on commercial projects and strategic initiatives.
Provide reporting and analysis that supports informed business decisions.
Tax & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, tax legislation and internal policies.
Prepare and lodge BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT and Payment Times Reporting obligations.
Identify, assess and escape financial risks or compliance issues where required.
About You
You're a proactive finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen.
You thrive in a quick-paced environment,

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
CA or CPA qualified.
Minimum 4 years' experience in a financial accounting or reporting role.
Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes and external audits.
Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirements.
Experience working across multiple business units and managing competing priorities.
Technical Skills
Strong ERP systems experience, ideally Sage or NetSuite.
Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables and financial analysis.
Strong financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation and analytical capabilities.
Personal Attributes
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
