Our client is a well-established Australian supplier of premium timber and building products, supporting customers across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Due to continued growth they are seeking an experienced HC Truck Driver to join their transport team on a permanent full-time basis.
This is a local day-shift driving role based in either Dandenong or Derrimut and suited to an experienced driver who is confident operating in timber yard environments, navigating tight access areas, and managing deliveries where precision and experience are essential.
This is not a standard point-to-point delivery role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing multiple daily runs between company locations, timber yards and customers, requiring strong vehicle handling skills and confidence operating in challenging access environments.
Shift Timings & Pay Rate
Hours:Monday to Friday | Day Shift 6am – 2.30pm
Finish times may extend to 4:30pm–5:00pm depending on workload
Overtime paid when required – however limited weekend overtime
Pay Rate:$***** per hour + Super + Overtime
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to the Transport Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Operating an Heavy Combination manual truck for local metro and regional deliveries
Completing multiple delivery runs per day between timber yards, company locations and customers
Safely loading, securing and transporting timber and building products
Manoeuvring vehicles through tight access areas, suburban streets and challenging delivery locations
Operating safely within timber yard environments
Completing pre-start checks and ensuring vehicle safety compliance




Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork and documentation
Liaising professionally with customers, yard teams and internal stakeholders
Assisting with loading and unloading requirements where required
Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and within required timeframes
Maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance and customer service
What We're Looking For
You will ideally have:
Proven experience operating HC vehicles in a local delivery environment
Experience operating in timber yards, building materials, manufacturing or similar environments (highly regarded)
Confidence maneuvering trucks in tight access areas
Experience driving manual heavy vehicles
Solid understanding of load restraint and transport safety requirements
Positive communication skills and a professional approach with customers and colleagues
Strong reliability and commitment to a permanent opportunity
