About The RoleThe Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unaccredited Registrar position offers exposure to a wide range of elective and trauma plastic surgery cases within a high-volume regional service.
The role provides excellent consultant supervision and teaching opportunities in a supportive environment that encourages ongoing development of surgical and clinical skills.
The successful applicant will work within a department comprising nine Consultant Plastic Surgeons, four Plastic Surgery Registrars and one Resident, managing over 3,000 surgical cases per year.
Clinical exposure includes skin cancer surgery, head and neck reconstruction, breast reconstruction, elective hand surgery and significant trauma experience.
The role includes participation in outpatient clinics, operating lists scheduled daily, structured teaching time, unit audit meetings, journal clubs, multidisciplinary meetings and an equitable on‐call roster shared between registrars.
Participation in after-hours, on‐call and recall is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality supervised plastic and reconstructive surgical care to inpatients and outpatients
Assist in elective and trauma operating lists across a broad case mix
Participate in clinics, audits,
multidisciplinary meetings and teaching sessions
Contribute to general reporting and departmental responsibilities
Participate in after-hours, on‐call and recall rosters as required by the unit
What We're Looking ForRegistration with AHPRA (or eligibility for registration)
Demonstrated interest in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and surgical training
Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to patient‐centred care, learning and professional development
