About the Role
We are currently seeking a Governance & Commercial Legal Advisor to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Governance & Commercial Legal Advisor will be responsible for supporting organisational governance, regulatory compliance, internal controls and business risk management across the organisation.
The position provides advice and support to management and project delivery teams through risk management initiatives, analysis of organisational information and data, and implementation of processes that ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Working with Project Delivery team develop and implement systems for document control,
including approvals and version controls
Analysis of project costs and forecasts to identify potential for variations and forecast project profitability
Analysing project performance data to support organisational planning, decision-making and process optimisation
Reviewing contracts and templates to ensure regulatory compliance and analyse to identify potential risks
Develop, review and maintain organisational policies, procedures, templates and governance documentation
Analyse and assess government and industry programs, including grant programs, and identify opportunities for the company to participate
Develop a "Tender Toolbox" for use in Project Tender Submissions, containing relevant Governance and Compliance documentation
Administration of Regulatory Compliance Program
Support the implementation of risk management IT systems in HSE, Quality and HR operations
Assist business managers to design, develop and implement corrective action programs to address legal compliance risks and / or adapt to changes in the regulatory environment
Analyse duty costs, identify opportunities for duty drawback claims, and administer regular claims
Maintain governance registers and organisational records relating to corporate assets and compliance obligations
Skills & Experience
A relevant Bachelor Degree or higher and a minimum of 12 months relevant experience.
5 years' experience may be considered in lieu of qualification
Experience reviewing contracts, policies and governance documents
Ability to analyse data and other information to support forecasting and decision-making
Ability to engage with stakeholders to coordinate effective organisational outcomes
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
