Experienced Aluminium Welder / Fabricator
GenFab Engineering is seeking anExperienced Aluminium Welder / Fabricatorto join our team in Caloundra West, QLD.
This is afull-time position (6am to 2pm with occasional overtime)that plays a vital role in our operations, delivering high-quality fabrication and welding services to our clients.
As an experienced professional in this field, you will be responsible for executing precision welding and fabrication work on aluminium screens, balustrades and components.
Key responsibilities
Perform skilled aluminium welding using various techniques including TIG and MIG welding processes
Fabricate and assemble aluminium components and structures according to engineering drawings, and specifications
Inspect and check work to ensure quality standards and fit for purpose requirements
Prepare materials and workpieces for welding and powder coating, including cutting, grinding and positioning
Maintain welding equipment and machinery, performing routine maintenance and reporting any defects or issues
Collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines and production targets
Follow all workplace safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
What we're looking for
Proven experience as an aluminium welder and fabricator, with a minimum of 3-5 years in the trade
Demonstrated proficiency in TIG and MIG welding processes on aluminium materials
Strong understanding of welding symbols, engineering drawings and technical specifications
Knowledge of fabrication techniques and the ability to work with various aluminium alloys




A current or recognised welding certification or relevant trade qualification
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Physical fitness and ability to work in a fast-paced workshop environment
Strong safety awareness and adherence to workplace safety standards
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding and fabrication challenges
Experience with precision measurement tools and quality control processes is highly desirable.
