NET Developers to join a growing engineering team delivering a diverse portfolio of desktop applications, web applications, APIs and back-end services.
This isn't a role where you'll spend every day building another CRUD website.
You'll work across a up-to-date Microsoft technology stack while helping shape the future architecture of several products that are evolving rapidly.
The environment is primarily built on .
NET 8 and .
NET 10, with some legacy .
NET Standard 2.0 and .
NET Framework 4.8 components.
You'll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, improve engineering practices and work on projects that span modern application development, systems integration and operational technology.

Key Responsibilities

NET Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing and supporting a diverse range of software solutions.
Working as part of a team-oriented engineering team, you will contribute to the delivery of modern applications while helping shape the future direction of our technology landscape.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software applications using modern .




NET technologies.
Develop and support desktop applications, web applications, RESTful APIs and back-end services.
Produce clean, maintainable and well-documented code that aligns with engineering best practices.
Participate in solution design, architecture discussions and technical planning activities.
Work collaboratively with developers, technical leads and stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards, processes and coding practices.
Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
Assist with the modernisation of existing applications and the development of new solutions.
Support the design and implementation of scalable, secure and reliable software architectures.
Contribute to database design and application data models where required.
Work with source control, version management and CI/CD processes using Git and Bitbucket.
Support integration with third-party systems, APIs and where required, operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems.
Stay current with emerging Microsoft technologies and recommend improvements that enhance the team's capability.

Job Requirements
Essential
To be successful in this role, you will have:




Commercial experience developing applications using C# and .
NET.
Strong experience with .
NET 8 and/or .
NET 10 (or recent versions of .NET/.NET Core).
Experience developing RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Web API.
Strong knowledge of Entity Framework and object-relational mapping (ORM).
Experience developing back-end services and business applications.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), software design principles and development best practices.
Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment (Bitbucket experience highly regarded).
Experience working with SQL Server and relational databases.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within an Agile or collaborative software development team.
A commitment to writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
Desirable
The following skills and experience will be highly regarded:
Experience developing desktop applications using WPF.
Experience with WinForms applications.
Experience designing SQL Server database schemas and data models.
Knowledge of SQL Server performance tuning and optimisation.
Experience with HTML, CSS and modern JavaScript.
Experience with Node.js.
Experience with modern Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks such as React or Angular.
Experience integrating with third-party APIs and external systems.
Exposure to Operational Technology (OT), SCADA platforms or industrial control systems.
Experience working with TCP/IP communications or hardware integration.
Exposure to PCVue or similar SCADA platforms.
Experience contributing to software architecture and technical design.
