This is a unique prospect for aMaintenance Officerto join our team in an autonomous and rewarding role helping to maintain our beautiful retirement villages in Croydon.
This hands on role would suit someone with a trade or maintenance background who likes interacting with people and enjoys a varied role that is less physically demanding than your typical role in the building/construction space.
Your role will involve assisting with the overall maintenance and improvement of facilities and grounds at The Brighton, building effective relationships and delivering positive outcomes for residents.

This hands on role would suit someone with a trade or maintenance background who likes interacting with people and enjoys a varied role that is less physically demanding than your typical role in the building/construction space.
Your role will involve assisting with the overall maintenance and improvement of facilities and grounds at The Brighton, building effective relationships and delivering positive outcomes for residents.
A typical day will involve
Anticipating and performing maintenance, repairs and replacements having consideration for high quality efficiency, budget and safety
Reporting maintenance needs to the Retirement Village Manager
Scheduling and carrying out periodic maintenance activities including pool maintenance at The Brighton
Providing quality service to all residents and customers with respect, dignity and privacy
Using initiative, accepting responsibility and organising work efficiently
Maintaining appropriate documentation and records relating to reactive and preventative maintenance works
Effectively communicating with residents, customers and significant others
Conducting regular internal audits and site inspections to proactively identify maintenance issues
Ensuring contractors provide the required licences, insurances and compliance documentation before commencing work
Ordering maintenance equipment and supplies in line with company policy, procedures and approved budget
To be successful in this role you'll need
A heart and passion for providing high quality care to older people
A trade qualification or completion of Certificate IV in Maintenance / Building Services is highly desirable
Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman or building services role
Hands-on experience with building maintenance procedures
Contractor management experience
A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices
Excellent time management, prioritisation and problem‐solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents
Current NSW Driver's License
Digital literacy and ability to learn new software platforms – essential
