Experienced Fleet Manager sought to lead fleet operations, optimize utilization, and ensure safety and compliance.
Vic Roadways Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join its team based in Clyde North, Victoria.
This is primarily an office-based position with occasional travel to operational sites, depots and workshops as required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the company's fleet operations, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, optimising vehicle utilisation, and maintaining high standards of safety and operational performance
Salary $80,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills, qualifications and relevant experience
Position Full Time, 38 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
Organise and coordinate the purchase, servicing, maintenance and replacement of the company's trucks, transport equipment and fuel requirements
Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to coordinate fleet requirements, resolve operational issues, and ensure effective delivery of transport services
Plan and coordinate truck allocation, fleet schedules and vehicle availability to maximise fleet utilisation and support operational requirements
Ensure trucks and transport operations are managed in accordance with company procedures, safety standards and applicable transport legislation




Coordinate the deployment and movement of trucks and fleet assets to support business operations and minimise vehicle downtime
Maintain accurate fleet and operational records, including vehicle maintenance, servicing, fuel usage, registrations and compliance documentation
Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations to improve fleet efficiency, vehicle utilisation and cost management
Monitor fleet operations to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, road transport legislation and company policies
Liaise with repair workshops, suppliers, insurers and service providers to ensure timely maintenance and minimise vehicle downtime
Monitor fleet performance and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and support business growth
Essential Requirements
Relevant qualification and/or at least two years of relevant experience in fleet management, transport operations or a closely related field
Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management systems
Current Australian driver's licence
A Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) licence would be advantageous but is not essential
