About the role
Canva is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to join the AI Help Experience group within the User Voice organization.
You will work at the crossroads of data engineering and analytics, turning raw event and product data into clean, well-documented models that help product teams understand internal tool usage and user value.
This position requires growing independence in solving moderately complex data challenges while partnering with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Engineers.

Team: AI Help Experience group within User Voice (data team of 17 people including Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers)
What you'll do
Lead efforts to optimize data warehouse performance, focusing on production stability, reliability, incident response, and review processes
Design and roll out observability, monitoring, and alerting standards across User Voice at scale
Build warehouse platform and tooling capabilities that incorporate data governance and management principles
Apply software engineering practices to deliver clean datasets from the warehouse to end users
Automate and optimize data loading and transformation systems using SQL and Python
Maintain, operate, and tune data infrastructure including Fivetran, Snowflake, Redshift, dbt, Looker, Mode Analytics, and Census at scale
Develop scalable data ingestion, access, and modelling frameworks for warehouse usage




Design analytic data models that answer questions from product teams and User Voice leadership
Protect user data throughout its lifecycle and ensure it is used with consent to support product experiences
Requirements
Proven experience writing advanced SQL
Hands‐on work with modern data transformation tools such as dbt or similar
Solid grasp of data modelling principles and analytics engineering best practices
Experience handling large datasets in cloud data warehouse environments
Ability to translate product questions into structured, scalable data solutions
Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with cross‐functional stakeholders
Growth mindset with motivation to deepen technical expertise
Nice to have
Interest in experimenting with and deploying AI technologies to solve user problems
Curiosity about product and user behavior with a drive to uncover valuable insights
