Maintenance Fitter – Day Shift | Manufacturing | Plastics
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Fitter who enjoys hands‐on mechanical work, fault-finding and problem-solving, and wants to be part of a growing, forward‐thinking manufacturing site.
Rather than a narrow hydraulics repair role, this position is a broader maintenance role covering preventative maintenance and troubleshooting across injection moulding equipment and associated plant.

About the Role
You'll be part of the on‐site maintenance team, looking after a mix of injection moulding machines and related equipment.
Your work will include:
Preventive maintenance (PMs) and scheduled servicing of injection moulding machines and auxiliaries
Breakdown response and fault finding acrossmechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Diagnosing oil leaks and replacing seals, hoses, valves and other hydraulic components where required
Troubleshooting how hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical components interact with electrical controls – an understanding of "mechatronics" in practice
Working closely with the Site Engineer and Engineering Manager on reliability and improvement projects
Supporting installation and commissioning of new machinery, automation and robotics as the site continues to grow
Liaising with production,



other trades and contractors to minimise downtime and keep the plant running smoothly
About You
We're looking for a practical, driven tradesperson who takes pride in doing the job properly and enjoys solving problems.
You'll ideally bring:
Trade qualification as aMechanical Fitter / Maintenance Fitter
Solid experience in maintenance and fault-finding in a manufacturing environment
Experience withinjection moulding, plastics or other high‐speed manufacturing (FMCG, packaging, food & bev, automotive, printing, etc.)– highly regarded but not essential
Robust hands‐on skills in hydraulics and pneumatics, including fault finding and component replacement
An understanding of howelectrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics work together– formal mechatronics qualifications are not required as long as you have good troubleshooting experience
Disconnect/reconnect licence, or the willingness to obtain one with employer support
Good communication skills and a team-oriented, "no dramas" attitude
Astrong work ethic, reliability and the drive to take ownershipof issues and follow through – the leadership team is particularly keen on someone with initiative and energy.
