HV Commissioning Electrician
FIFO Pilbara Region | 2:1 Roster | $93/hr | 12-Month Contract
We are seeking two experienced HV Commissioning Electricians to support a major Decarbonisation Infrastructure Project across the Pilbara region.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a significant infrastructure project with a strong pipeline of work and a high likelihood of contract extension.
About the Role
Reporting to the Commissioning Supervisor / Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems and associated equipment.
You will play a key role in ensuring systems are safely commissioned and delivered in accordance with project specifications, statutory requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform commissioning, functional testing and energisation of HV systems
Test switchgear, transformers, protection relays and control systems
Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and test procedures
Conduct insulation resistance, continuity, polarity and secondary injection testing
Perform LV testing and fault-finding activities
Commission control systems and carry out instrument calibration
Identify, diagnose and rectify electrical faults and non-conformances
Complete commissioning records and test documentation accurately




Coordinate commissioning activities with engineers, project teams and operations personnel
Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental and quality requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience
Current WA Electrical Licence (or recognised equivalent)
HV Switching Operator Certification
Proven experience in high-voltage installation and commissioning
Strong knowledge of protection and control systems
Current CPR/LVR accreditation
White Card
Current Driver's Licence
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance
Solid troubleshooting and fault-finding capability
Desirable Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience within mining, renewable energy or HV infrastructure projects
Experience preparing and executing HV switching programs
Knowledge of SCADA and protection relay systems including SEL, Schneider and Siemens
Experience with commissioning documentation and pre-commissioning processes
Understanding of isolation and permit systems
Knowledge of WA mining legislation and HV regulations
Exposure to AC and DC charging infrastructure projects
