SNAICC – National Voice for our Children
is the national non-government peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
SNAICC's vision is that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families are protected, our communities determine their own futures, and our cultural identity is valued.
We work to amplify the voice of community and the sector for the fulfilment of the rights of our children.
SNAICC plays a key role in the following areas:
Research and policy development, with high-level leadership, policy and sector representation
Training and resource design, development and delivery including topics such as early childhood development, partnerships, family support, trauma, and cultural competency.
Support for sector development, membership, and networking.
Job Description
About the role
The Training and Development Facilitator position supports SNAICC's Programs unit to provide culturally safe, trauma informed and secure services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations and non-Indigenous services across Australia in metropolitan, rural, and remote settings.
The Training and Development Facilitator will play a lead role in the development and delivery of SNAICC training suites, and at times may include lead facilitator responsibilities, including mentoring facilitators and supporting team practice.
We are looking for someone who:
Identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
Has training experience and the ability to lead the design, development and delivery of trauma informed training programs and resources with both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and organisations, and mainstream organisations.
Has a demonstrated ability to design, deliver, manage, and evaluate projects across the entire project cycle.
Has a demonstrated ability to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and people.
Has demonstrated experience providing cultural and practice leadership, mentoring facilitators and supporting teams to strengthen culturally safe and reflective practice.
Demonstrates the capacity to contribute to the development of best practice across child and family services, and ACCO sector training and support training, with an understanding of working with complex families to ensure safety, development and wellbeing for children, young people, and their families.
Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated capacity to produce high-quality documents, evidence-based reports, submissions, and briefings.
The successful applicant will be required to have or obtain a current Working with Children Check and a National Police Check.

Qualifications or extensive experience in relevant fields
Working with Children Check
Current police check (no older than three months)
Current Driver's License
Considerate travel is required for the role, with intra and interstate, and into remote and very remote communities.
It is a genuine requirement of this role that it is held by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
