Mutitjulu Community Aboriginal Corporation (MCAC)is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Manager to lead the strategic and operational management ofWalkatjara Arts, a community-owned Aboriginal art centre located in the World Heritage-listed Uluru-Kata Tjuṯa National Park.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a community-led organisation and play a key leadership role in strengthening a culturally significant enterprise that supports Aṉangu artists, protects culture and creates sustainable economic opportunities.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee the business operations of Walkatjara Arts, with a strong focus on administration, governance, financial management, grant funding, compliance and business development.
You will work closely with the Studio Coordinator, Gallery Manager and artists to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the business.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the day-to-day business operations of Walkatjara Arts.
Strengthening administration, governance and financial management systems.
Preparing reports, budgets and Board documentation.
Developing and managing grant funding opportunities and funded projects.
Building partnerships and identifying opportunities for business growth.
Protecting Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP), copyright and artist agreements.
Supporting artist development, exhibitions and commercial opportunities.
Leading, mentoring and supporting a small team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in business, operations or organisational management.
Robust administration,



financial management and governance skills.
Experience preparing reports, budgets and grant applications.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
The ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
A commitment to working respectfully within an Aboriginal community.
Experience in the Aboriginal arts sector, Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP), copyright management or arts administration will be highly regarded but is not essential.
What We Offer
Salary: $95,000–$100,000 per annum(negotiable), plus superannuation.

Pre-Employment Requirements
The successful applicant will be required to:
Hold a current unrestricted C Class Driver Licence.
If relocating from interstate, obtain a Northern Territory Driver Licence.
In accordance with MCAC policy, employees are not permitted to drive MCAC vehicles until an NT Driver Licence has been obtained.
Hold or be able to obtain a Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
Hold or be able to obtain a satisfactory National Police Check.
Hold or be willing to obtain an Advanced or Remote Area First Aid Certificate.
Have the legal right to work in Australia.
Appointment to this position is subject to the successful completion of all required pre-employment checks.
