Health Futures Australia (HFA) is a health promotion charity and certified social enterprise based in Ballarat, Victoria.
Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of communities by building innovative, practical programs that create lasting change.
The Healthy Lunch Kitchen (HLK) is our flagship initiative - an exciting, purpose-driven social enterprise operating across Ballarat, Victoria.
The HLK exists to ensure that every school child has access to a freshly prepared, highly nutritious meal at school, tackling food insecurity while educating and inspiring the next generation of healthy eaters and creating a healthy food system.
Our core program activities are:
School Meal Program:Delivering freshly cooked, whole-food meals to children at local schools during school terms.
We provide lunches through our
1) subsidised universal program with priority eligible schools, and
2) our catalogue of school meals for all schools.
School Holidays Cooking Schools:Community cooking classes for children focused on nutrition, connection, skills development, and health and wellbeing, run during school holidays
HLK LunchBox:A new exciting concept of a catered box of fresh chef-prepared lunch items that can be put into lunchboxes.
Each box comprises savoury and naturally sweet items to help families get through their busy weeks.
Other revenue lines:to develop further business and revenue-generating opportunities to enable the enterprise to be financially sustainable.
The HLK is growing rapidly and we are building our team to scale the enterprise.
This is a rare opportunity to join from the ground floor and help shape a social enterprise with a genuine mission at its heart.
