The Role
We are keen to connect with Emergency Medicine Registrars interested in joining a major metropolitan teaching hospital that is undergoing significant Emergency Department expansion.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your emergency medicine skills within a busy mixed adult and paediatric ED, supported by FACEM supervision and a structured education program.
The department provides exposure to a broad range of acute presentations and increasing patient volumes as it expands capacity to meet the needs of one of Victoria's fastest-growing communities.
Registrars work closely with experienced emergency physicians and multidisciplinary teams while gaining progressive clinical responsibility in a well-supported environment.
The Hospital
This major metropolitan teaching hospital provides comprehensive acute healthcare services to Melbourne's rapidly growing western corridor.
Confirmed features include:
Busy mixed Emergency Department with more than 55,000 presentations annually, including approximately 25% paediatric patients.
Modern Emergency Department expansion featuring additional resuscitation bays, a 16-bed Short Stay Unit and dedicated paediatric and behavioural assessment areas.
Broad case mix reflecting the needs of a diverse and expanding population.
Training & Development
Training is a key strength of this position, with structured support for doctors pursuing Emergency Medicine.
Confirmed opportunities include:
ACEM accredited as a Non-Major Referral Centre for 24 months of Emergency Medicine training.
Weekly protected registrar teaching, including simulation-based education.
Direct FACEM supervision and mentorship.
Opportunity to complete the ACEM Paediatric Logbook on-site.
Access to accredited Anaesthetics and ICU rotations, with additional in-house non-ED training opportunities.
Formal Workplace-Based Assessment (WBA) and Primary Examination support programs.

Requirements
Eligible for registration with AHPRA.
Appropriate postgraduate Emergency Medicine experience.
Interest in or enrolment with ACEM is desirable.
