About the Role
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Production Estimator
to join our estimating team. Reporting to the Estimating & Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and commercially competitive cost estimates for complex residential construction projects ranging in contract value from $700K to $4M.

clear pathway for development into a Production Estimating Team Leader position

Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for complex residential homes with contract values ranging from $700K to $4M, including labour, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
Analyse and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and all relevant documentation to identify scope, inclusions, and potential cost risks.
Prepare Bills of Quantities, trade breakups, tender submissions, and variations.




Liaise with pre-construction, drafting, and construction teams to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies.
Provide cost-saving alternatives where possible to optimise build costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
Assist in developing and improving estimating processes and workflows to drive efficiency and accuracy, ensuring deadlines and expectations are consistently met.
Maintain and update the estimating database, ensuring all pricing files and unit rates remain current and aligned with supplier agreements.
Maintain and monitor purchase order configurations across all systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency with business requirements.
Coordinate scheduling of the production estimating workload and liaise with relevant departments to ensure Bill of Quantities are delivered within operational deadlines.
Support the allocation of jobs based on complexity, skill, and capacity, helping to ensure KPIs and site-start targets are met.
Contribute to quality assurance of all production estimating outputs including BOQs, costings, variations, and documentation.
Ensure all estimating activities, job notes, and tasks are updated daily in relevant systems.
Review weekly Extras to Schedule (ETS) reports to verify data accuracy and ensure appropriate documentation of purchase orders and cost variations.
Assist production and other departments with estimating-related tasks to maintain workflow continuity and operational efficiency.
Participate in weekly workflow meetings to review and plan for incoming jobs.
Mentor and support Trainee and Junior Estimators with daily tasks while maintaining oversight of orders and general estimating activities.
Deliver training, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and process improvements to enhance estimating accuracy and reduce errors.




Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, clarify estimating requirements, and support project readiness.
Track and report on key performance indicators including estimating accuracy, turnaround times, and cost variance.
Allocate trades for jobs moving to construction.

Key Skills & Experience
Bachelor of Construction Management, Building & Construction Certificate IV, or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 10 years' experience in construction estimating, with at least 4 years in a senior estimating role.
Strong ability to read, interpret, and price from construction plans, specifications, and contractual documentation.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and database systems.
Experience using Client Manager, Onsite Companion, Databuild, and Planswift is highly regarded.
Class C NSW Driver's Licence.
