A refurbished with new equipment analytical laboratory in Geelong is seeking an Analytical Chemist to join our team on a full-time permanent basis.
Monday to Friday, standard working hours.
About You:
Tertiary Science Qualifications majoring in Chemistry
Minimum 3 years of relevant Chemistry laboratory experience
Excellent understanding of analytical techniques/methodology including accreditation programs
Well organised with the ability to follow instructions and work with minimum supervision
Robust written and verbal communication skills, and Computer Skills
Duties:
Quality control testing of raw materials and finished products
Prepare client samples (soil, plant, water)
for testing whilst maintaining sample integrity and traceability under accreditation program guidelines
Operation of ICP-OES, other equipment as required for sample testing
Perform a wide range of basic tests, processing final sample results/reports and recording data
Ability to perform instrument calibrations and preventative maintenance and troubleshooting using laboratory equipment
All aspects of sample management and general laboratory duties include keeping the laboratory clean and tidy ensuring the workplace's health and safety
Develop procedures and work instructions, where required
