Senior Safety Advisor (Contract) - Government Transformation Program

We're partnering with alarge government organisationundergoing asignificant Safety Management System (SMS) transformation, and they're seeking a high-calibre contractor to play a key role in shaping and delivering this program.
This is a rare opportunity to sitbetween strategy and delivery, working closely with senior leadership while remaining hands-on in driving meaningful safety outcomes.
About the Opportunity
In this role, you'll support thereview, redesign, and implementation of critical elements of the organisation's Safety Management System, helping to uplift capability and ensure alignment with legislative and regulatory standards.
Working directly with a dedicated Safety Project Manager, you will:
Lead thedevelopment and refinement of safety frameworks, policies, and procedures
TranslateOHS legislation and regulatory requirementsinto practical, operational solutions
Drive theimplementation of improved safety systems, assurance frameworks, and controls
Engage with stakeholders across the business toembed sustainable safety practices
Supportaudit, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives
This role requires someone who can confidently move betweenhigh-level planning and on-ground delivery.
About You
You are a confident and capable safety skilled who brings:
Proven experience as aSenior Safety Advisor / WHS professionalwithin government, utilities,



or infrastructure environments
Strong working knowledge ofOHS legislation, compliance frameworks, and ISO-aligned safety systems (e.g. ISO*****)
Demonstrated success indeveloping or improving Safety Management Systems (SMS)
The ability to engage, influence, and build trust with stakeholders across all levels
Experience inrisk management, audits, incident investigations and assurance practices
Strong written capability, particularly in developingpolicies, procedures, and system documentation
You arepragmatic, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating in evolving, project-driven environments.
