About the role
Provides specialist Infectious Diseases care across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, ensuring evidence-based clinical management and high‐quality patient outcomes.
Supports clinical consultation, on‐call services, guideline development, education, research, multidisciplinary teamwork, and liaison with pathology services.
Key duties of the role
Participate in the provision of a high standard of clinical services to patients requiring Infectious Diseases management using evidence-based practice
Promotes a positive and safe work workplace while ensuring clinical records are maintained in accordance with organisational policies and standards
Initiate, support and contribute to clinical and laboratory research initiatives within the specialty area
Ensure undergraduate and postgraduate training in the discipline of Infectious Diseases is facilitated
Leading the service and participating in quality and risk management activities and ongoing service improvements
Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
Working towards or completion of appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
Demonstrated clinical experience providing Infectious Diseases services in hospital and community settings.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment and delivering quality patient care.
Demonstrated experience in teaching and supporting undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Knowledge of contemporary Infectious Diseases practice, research, and public health policies.
